News Flash: ALST for Exchange 2010 – Development Stopped…

Some of you have been asking me about when a version of the ALST will be released for Exchange 2010 (for those of you whom are not familiar with my ALST (Address List Segregation Tool) for Exchange 2007 SP1 have a look here.

Today I would like to announce that I will NOT be providing a version of the Tool for Exchange 2010.

The reason for this is not because I do not wish to provide the tool – but to do with the excellent announcement on the MSExchange Team’s blog that Microsoft now intends to build the functionality into the Core product of Exchange 2010!

For full details please see the post located here: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2011/01/27/457820.aspx

This is truly great news and long over due, obviously there is no firm date as to when this will make this into Exchange 2010 (one assumes a Service Pack) – but once again it proves that they have been listening.

This of course means that further development of my tool for Exchange 2010 is now redundant hence the title of this article – my Exchange 2007 will remain available, but I also do not intend to develop this any further (unless of course someone comes up with a “killer” feature) – but I am also considering releasing to C# source code – let me know if this is something that people would be interested in.
